Because this is the twenty-first century, where everyone is trying too hard to look like they are not trying and that they don’t care.

Because this is the twenty first century, where we believe in clicks, and likes, and comments, and social media for change, and engage hash tag activism, more than the real grassroots work.

Because this is the twenty first century, where everybody is too woke, too much “wokeness” is killing us. Simple conversations are no longer allowed, and excuse me to say that “ignorance is tantamount to stupidity”.

Because this is the twenty first century, where cancel culture is the norm. Forgiveness is archaic, opinions are no longer objective, and people have no right to falter in speech and in deed. It’s either you’re perfect or you’re canceled.

Because this is the twenty first century, where we have more friends on social media than in our neighborhoods. We live in enclosed spaces, we tap on glass screens to communicate with loved ones, and we eat French fries and potato chips to show how modern we are.

Because this is the twenty first century, where we can only care about those who care about us. Where we operate a system of ” you ignore me, I ignore you or you hail me, I hail you”. Our contacts are filled with names of people just because of the fear of “Who knows tomorrow?” and we miss people the instant they text us they miss us too.

Because this is the twenty first century, a generation obsessed with beauty and youth, that there is little regard for the aged and things of old. Because we are an age blessed with the wonders and intricacies of technology, so we no longer have time for what we term “backwardness” or people who don’t know what Twitter or Facebook is.

Because this is twenty first century, where Google has all the answers, so it has become a crime to not know. To say that you don’t know something is an abomination. We are all supposed to be smart and pretend we are there even when we know we are not.

Because this is the twenty first century, everyone and everything is too liberal. Everything is subjective and relative. There can no more be good or bad, right or wrong, beautiful or ugly, rain or shine; everything depends on you, how you view it, and how you want to interpret it. Even religion.

Because this is me, putting into words, few of the many thoughts that circle around in my head

Not because it matters or I’m better

But because I have a blog and I can post this on it.

Have a lovely evening y’all

Love❤

Liz.
