If like me, you’ve used an Infinix phone before or you’re still using one, you may have probably come across this pop-up on your screen as a magazine wallpaper quote—“Don’t let dream be your only dream”.

The first time I read this, I didn’t really make much of it. But from continually reading and pondering over these few words over time, I started to make deeper sense of them. I noticed that many of us—myself included—are in danger of doing just what the quote purports.

By nature, I am a dreamer. Aren’t we all? Only God can count how many fertile thoughts and ideas flash through my mind every second, minute or hour, not to talk of day.

But the big question is; “How many of them have I worked on or acted on so far?”

Sadly, very few.

Why is that?

Due to multiple factors; procrastination being the chief of them all. Others include laziness, lack of clear-cut vision, lack of will and determination to just execute my ideas, finding the additional knowledge it’d require for me to do that thing and many others.

And so from all that, what that wallpaper quote drew my attention to, was the fact that I might be in danger of being just a dreamer for life. Always dreaming of things I yearn to accomplish, but never bringing myself to actually put in the difficult work needed to make those dreams materialize into reality. And like in many things, I know I’m not alone in this one too.

Most of us are dreamers. People with big plans, goals, ambitions, and dreams which we wish to see come to life someday— soon. But the sad news is that the magnitude of action or effort we’re putting in does not match the strength of our dreams. Which is why we may hold unto the same idea or dream for years and years, and keep on dreaming on, till we realize we’ve run out of time to see them come to fruition.

So while I was pondering over that quote, I just thought I’ll put this out there, both as a form of caution and a reminder to myself and the likes of me out there. That, while it is good to dream, however big it is, not limiting our minds and imaginations, while we’re dreaming all those mind-blowing, out-of-the-world dreams, let’s make sure our efforts to see them come to reality equally match up.

Don’t fall prey to becoming a dreamer for life. To put it simply, don’t let dream be your only dream.

Hey there, thank you so much for reading. Once again, I hope I was able to throw some inspiration your way with these few words. My biggest dream is to see all of us win and so I’m always on the lookout for how I can help make that dream come into reality. This is the best way I know how. And if my words can push even one soul to be better than they were yesterday, I’ve accomplished my purpose. Let’s all wake up with vim and work towards our vision with will and vigour. Lastly in the words of Beyonce, “I’m not just preaching, I’m taking my own advice”.😊

Till my next post….be safe✊🏾

Love❤️
